00:00:00 People come to me at different point of their journey. And sometimes it's as early as like they haven't, you know, gone to a fertility clinic yet to get testing, but they're just completely overwhelmed and anxious and they're looking for support. But then I also have people who come to me that have been trying to get pregnant, maybe even have, you know, undergone fertility treatments, have done multiple rounds of IVF and they haven't been able to get pregnant,
00:00:25 but then also medical Western medical science hasn't been able to give them an explanation as to why, right? So this is unexplained infertility. So it's my point of view, them an explanation as to why, right? So this is unexplained infertility. So it's my point of view, and it's my belief that unexplained infertility, this is what a term that's been coined by the Western medical system, because the Western medical system is really only looking at the physical body, right? So when we go to a fertility clinic, and we do testing to find out why we're not getting pregnant, right, we're doing blood work, we're doing ultrasounds, right, but we're not looking beyond just the physical body. And so this is why I think it actually is
00:00:57 not looking beyond just the physical body. And so this is why I think it actually is understandable or explainable. So here's a little question for you. What do you think Western medical system, functional medicine, and even naturopathy, what do these things have in common? They all deal with the physical body. Yes, absolutely. And by all means, I'm not against functional medicine and naturopathy. And I absolutely think there is a place for that. functional medicine and naturopathy. And I absolutely think there is a place for that. And I even refer my own clients to naturopaths because it's important. Okay. However, sometimes when people are only using that, right. So it's like, okay, I've been to see like a
00:01:45 naturopath. I've gone to a functional medicine practitioner and I'm doing all these things with my diet and taking supplements. And even like these, these hair tests that they do, they're looking at stool tests, we're still looking at the physical body, right? And there's really no tests that I know of that we have that can really go into and to find dis-ease in the emotional body tests that I know of that we have that can really go into and to find dis-ease in the emotional body and in the mental body, okay? I think these are things more from felt experience. Like we can know that, you know, we, and I mean, maybe neuroscience can really go and, you know, do an MRI on the brain and then find that somebody has a mental health disorder. But this is not something that's
00:02:22 happening when we're going to be tested for infertility. So of course, so they all focus on the physical body, right? But from a holistic perspective, there's this idea that you are more on the physical body, right? But from a holistic perspective, there's this idea that you are more than your physical body. And so the two bodies, and I call these bodies because, and I'm going to show you a slide in a second, from the point of view of Eastern philosophy and of yoga, we actually do call these sheets that they actually say that you have a mental body. And I think that's a cool visual image. And I'm all about visualization, of course, because I'm a guided visualization teacher. And so and when we can visualize something, I think it can really help
00:02:56 visualization teacher. And so and when we can visualize something, I think it can really help us embody it. And so if you can imagine that, you know, beyond this physical structure, that's tangible, that you can touch it, we can test that we have this mental body, and your mental body is made up of the thoughts that you think, and the thoughts that you think are really programmed by The beliefs that you have, and we can go deep of where do the beliefs that you have come from? Well, those are programmed, they are an inherited, they can go back into your lineage. But there is no doubt you have a mental body, right? And this impacts your physical body. You also have an emotional body, and this also impacts your physical body. The beliefs that you have, and we can go deep of where do the beliefs that you have come from? Well, those are programmed, they are an inherited, they can go back into your lineage. But there is no doubt you have a mental body, right? And this impacts your physical body. You also have an emotional body, and this also impacts your physical body. and so this is the point of view from eastern medicine um and it's the model of the five koshas okay and kosha translates to sheath right and so the external sheath right and so this is
00:03:49 like the kind of this beautiful picture almost of like a female buddha um and right so the external sheath is what we call in the kosha model which is ana ana maya kosha and interestingly actually sheath is what we call in the kosha model which is ana ana maya kosha and interestingly actually ana stands for the food sheath. So it's quite literally like you are what you eat. This is the food sheath. This is the physical body. And now if we go beyond the physical body, right, then the next body that we have is now prana mayakosha, which is your life force sheath. And in yoga, prana translates to life force, and it's your life force energy. So this is your energetic body, and then beyond the energetic body then there's the mano maya kocha which is now the mental sheath
00:04:29 and then beyond the energetic body then there's the mano maya kocha which is now the mental sheath so this is your your mind body okay they also have the wisdom body and then the bliss body i don't go into these when i'm talking in the realm of fertility because those are even more subtle i think they are also important because of course you know just finding bliss and joy i think is directly linked to fertile energy and being like at your most fertile peak like if the body is devoid of bliss and joy, then it's going to be harder to get pregnant. But for the scope of devoid of bliss and joy, then it's going to be harder to get pregnant. But for the scope of today's presentation, we're just going to be talking more about the prana, maya, and I'm not
00:05:06 going to talk too, too much more about it, but just to say that you have these, these other bodies, right? And then there's the idea that these bodies, they talk to one another, right? So they're not separate entities, but that they all impact one another. So the emotions that you feel, in your energetic heart center, right? Those are going to impact physical sensations that you have and vice versa. The physical sensations you have in your body are going to impact your emotions. and vice versa. The physical sensations you have in your body are going to impact your emotions. The same thing with your thoughts, the thoughts that you think in the mind-body connection are going to impact how you feel in your body and vice versa, how you feel in your body is going
00:05:42 to impact the quality of the thoughts that you're thinking in your mind. And so you've probably heard of the mind-body connection. And I find that this is something that is becoming more mainstream today. And a lot of people now are, you know, sometimes we talk about this like idea of like today. And a lot of people now are, you know, sometimes we talk about this like idea of like woo-woo of concepts that are more esoteric or that have not been proven by the scientific method. But I think really today we're catching on to the fact that, okay, this mind-body connection thing, it's real, it exists, right? And this is really interesting, this concept that your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what's real and what's imagined. And this is really how
00:06:25 the placebo effect works. And this is the example that I always love to give to anybody that has the placebo effect works. And this is the example that I always love to give to anybody that has never heard of the mind-body connection before. And I also think the placebo effect is just such a powerful, profound way to remind ourselves of, oh, wow, this mind-body connection thing is really real. And I think it's absolutely mind-blowing and fascinating that we can give a group of people a pill that has no active ingredient in it. And we can tell them that it's going to help them in such a way, right? And then just by sheer power of suggestion and by power of belief that they a way, right? And then just by sheer power of suggestion and by power of belief that they
00:07:00 actually will end up getting the same results as somebody who is taking a pill with the active ingredient, right? And so in this way, it can be so powerful to practice guided visualization, right? Or maybe, I don't know, now I'm thinking of it, maybe I should like come up with my own pill for fertility and it would be a sugar pill, right? And just like the power of belief of, okay, so, you know, if you're picturing in your mind that your reproductive organs and your womb okay, so, you know, if you're picturing in your mind that your reproductive organs and your womb is this like beautiful room, right? That is going to welcome your baby and your organs are shining light, right? Then like, if you're picturing this in your mind, then your body is going to react in
00:07:42 a way that, okay, this is actually truth. Like your organs are going to start to function better because you're imagining them in that way through the mind-body connection. And like, there's a lot of actual research out there on mind-body programs. And so there's the book called by James Schwartz, The Mind-Body Fertility Connection. You can find more studies about this, right? And they actually The Mind-Body Fertility Connection. You can find more studies about this, right? And they actually look at, they do research on mind-body programs. So I consider my program, Fertile From Within, to be a mind-body program. And out of the mind-body programs
00:08:10 that they've studied, right, that they find that like the typical success rate of achieving pregnancy at the end of a program that is anywhere from six weeks to four months is like in almost the 50%, you know, range. Whereas, and this is, you know, it varies depending on your age, depending on so many factors,
00:08:28 but this is a chart that he published in his book. but this is a chart that he published in his book. And I always just think that's like pretty mind-blowing. So I like to like remind people of the power of that.
